The 2023 festive season of Sweetness' had competing Bands put up their games, with mimetic interpretations of overriding theme' the Season of Sweetness' was topnotch, as costumes and colour blend world class, aesthetic displays, electrifying and totally compelling, in all ramifications.
Symbolically generated sequence of events beyond amusement, with the crowd outrageously massive like never before.
The Organisation, crowd control and security presence was superb.
My rating, based on practical experience in the Streets of Calabar, I dare to say the Carnival Commission literally made history by putting together a well articulated and impactful Carnival without foreign participation, purely Local content with thought provoking thematic
Expressions.
I can categorically say, that Calabar Carnival remains the most anticipated event on the Continent of Africa.
I hope to see some form of dramatic improvements in the nearest future and after several years of Carnival Calabar, I am also looking forward to see some deliberate involvement, by the Federal Government of Nigeria, to help build The Cross River State Creative Economy.
Congratulations to our sweetest Prince, the Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Bassey Edet Otu, for the successful hosting of Carnival Calabar 2023.
