The provision of social amenities and the creation of a conducive atmosphere for improved living and communal comfort has been an absolute priority to Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba, member representing Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, whose membership of the House has obviously changed the physical and social structure of his entire Constituency.
A third term member of the Lower Legislative House, Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba demonstrated the above assertion when he did a test run of facilities in the water projects he is executing for his people at Ohana and Ogambang both in Obubra Local Government Area of Cross River State.
He said that it has always been his burning desire to provide potable water to all his people at the grassroots and covering the entire nooks and crannies of the people he ably represents at the National Assembly.
The distinguished federal lawmaker told his Constituents that the provision of potable water is among the responsibilities of every Government just as leaders and the representatives are saddled with the obligation of providing the basic amenities for their Constituents.
The third term Federal Lawmaker noted that the people should ordinarily be the first beneficiaries of government lofty intervention programmes in any area of both urban and rural settlements.
He said that he will fulfil his obligations for the people of Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency, whose mandate was freely placed on his shoulders, during the general elections. He contended that only a constant touch with the people at the grassroots to know their problems and issues concerning their welfare, would make one understand the imbalances that occur at that level of existence.
Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba has been a recurring figure in the social and economic narrative of his people and he is leaving no stone unturned until that is fully achieved.
That accounts for why he has embarked on many intervention packages for the people and at regulated intervals, he has called his Constituents out for highly qualitative and life-changing empowerment programmes.
In fulfillment of his desire to provide water therefore, he undertook a test run of the facility at Ohana Community to ascertain the workability of the water project in the area. To his delight and appreciation of everybody, the water facilities at Ohana and Ogambang communities are in perfect working conditions.
It would be recalled that during his last lap of the last National Assembly electioneering campaigns, he made solemn promises to the people of Ohana and Ogambang, that he was going to resuscitate their sources of water supply in order to ensure clean and safe water and to avoid any water borne diseases.
Rt. Hon Mike Etaba has unarguably been in the frontline of elected public officers who have done his people of Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency very proud and highly elated.
Only recently, he was on hand in his area of legislative jurisdiction to distribute all manner of empowerment materials to his people which included motorcycles, tricycles and grinding machines. He also committed huge financial resources to other social amenities in each and every one of the entire wards of his Federal Constituency.
The remarkable impact of Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba will continue to be felt as he intends to do even more for the benefit of his people.
