As Special Assistant Youth Mobilization (North), I, Hon. Inah Simon, and my team of eminent youth and student leaders, recently took the message of His Excellency Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu to the youths of the Northern Senatorial District of Cross River State. Our mission was to deliver a message of renewed hope and assurance that the People-First Governor is committed to the growth and development of our youths, as well as the total transformation of our state.
We distributed palliatives, including garri, beans, and rice, to over 15 youth groups through their leaderships across the five LGAs of Ogoja, Yala, Bekwarra, Obanliku, and Obudu. This gesture symbolized the Governor's dedication to empowering our youths and transforming our state through:
- Infrastructure development
- Human capacity building
- Economic growth
- Peace and security
- Provisions of basic amenities
- Job creation
- Investment opportunities
We highlighted the Governor's recent achievements, including the flag-off of road infrastructure projects in Yala and Ogoja, and the upcoming construction of a railway connecting Bakassi to Ogoja, Bekwarra, and Obudu, poised to revolutionize agriculture in our state.
The Governor's recent decision to lift the ban on employment in the state civil service, expected to favor our youths, has sparked widespread jubilation. Thassure His Excellency of the youths' unwavering loyalty and support for his policies, programs, and initiatives.
The youths and their leadership pledged their unalloyed loyalty to the Governor and his deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey (PhD), and thanked them for their inclusive governance.
