Cross River State Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey PhD has been honoured with the prestigious Yala Achievers Award as the Most Friendly Deputy Governor of the Year.
This is just as the handsome, accessible, accommodating and grassroots Deputy Governor recently received the award plague and certificate at his beautiful temporary office at the Government House, Calabar, the Cross River State capital city.
The CEO of Moj's Entertainment Ltd, organisers of the Yala Achievers Summit and Awards, Mr. Odey Jacob and his duo team members, Ebriku John Friday and Mr Ogar Solomon Ogar presented the award plague and certificate to Rt Hon Peter Odey, when they visited him recently.
Rt. Hon. Odey was honoured as the Most Friendly Deputy Governor of the Year in recognition of his friendly disposition, impactful leadership and laudable contributions to the people of Yala and our communities.
While receiving the award, the Deputy Governor expressed his appreciation to the organisers for the recognition and dedicated it to God Almighty, his boss, the Governor, H.E Sen Prince Bassey Otu and the good people of Cross River State.
It would be recalled that the 6th Yala Achievers Summit and Awards ceremony was held on July 28, 2024 at the Metropolitan Hotel (former Transcorp Hilton Hotel) Calabar, where notable personalities of all works of life graced the event.
The theme of the event was, "Celebrating Your Immense Contributions To Humanity and Promotion of Harmony in Our Communities".
This year's ceremony was chaired by the highly respected Chief Dr Ochim Julius Okputu, with Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Senator Stephen Odey Ph D (Associate Professor) as Keynote Speaker. Other speakers and Panelists during the summit and awards ceremony are Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Dr. Mrs. Beatrice Igwe , Former Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Hon. Dr. Mrs. Stella Oreme -Ekpo and Dr Paul Ebiala, former NBA Chairman, Calabar Branch).
The well planned event has been credited as the most organized and rated successful as Yala with its unique diversities was showcased to the world as one peaceful, loving, united and progressive entity. And though the event has come and gone, the memory and impact will linger on the minds of participants for a very long time.
